Some Remarks on Whitham Dynamics

A number of formulas are displayed concerningWhitham theory for a simple example of pure N = 2 susy Yang-Mills (YM) with gauge group SU(2). In particular this serves to illuminate the role of Λ and T1 derivatives and the interaction with prepotentials F (Seiberg-Witten) and F (Whitham).

On the Noether-Lefschetz Theorem and Some Remarks on Codimension-two Cycles

Here, "of general moduli" means that there is a countable union V of subvarieties of the space pN of surfaces of degree d in p3, such that the statement Pie(S) = Z holds for S ~ p N _ V. Noether, it would seem, stated this theorem but never completely proved it. Instead, he gave a plausibility argument, based on the following construction 1 : let ,~.g be the Hilbert scheme of curves of degree n...

Some Remarks on Real and Complex Output Feedback

We provide some new necessary and suucient conditions which guarantee arbitrary pole placement of a particular linear system over the complex numbers. We exhibit a non-trivial real linear system which is not controllable by real static output feedback and discuss a conjecture from algebraic geometry concerning the existence of real linear systems for which all static feedback laws are real.

SOME REMARKS ON ALMOST UNISERIAL RINGS AND MODULES

In this paper we study almost uniserial rings and modules. An R−module M is called almost uniserial if any two nonisomorphic submodules are linearly ordered by inclusion. A ring R is an almost left uniserial ring if R_R is almost uniserial. We give some necessary and sufficient condition for an Artinian ring to be almost left uniserial.

Decoding perturbation theory using resurgence: Stokes phenomena, new saddle points and Lefschetz thimbles

Resurgence theory implies that the non-perturbative (NP) and perturbative (P) data in a QFT are quantitatively related, and that detailed information about nonperturbative saddle point field configurations of path integrals can be extracted from perturbation theory. Traditionally, only stable NP saddle points are considered in QFT, and homotopy group considerations are used to classify them. Ho...
